Yesterday there was an explosion near Windsor Excelsior hotel on Copacabana beach. According to the police, they noticed a suspicious bag near the hotel. The law enforcement officers called De-miners who exploded the bag.

Representatives of Rescue Service and law enforcement officers were mobilized on site.

Tariel Khechikashvili, minister of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia, and deputy minister Shalva Gogoladze are accommodated in this hotel. They were not in the hotel at the time of the explosion.

“We were going back to the hotel when we heard that the Security Service defused the suspicious bag. No one was injured. Now security measures are reinforced in the whole city” – stated Tariel Khechikashvili.
