Lasha Shavdatuashvili is twice Olympic winner. The Georgian judoka won gold in London in 2012 and now gained bronze at Rio Olympic Games 2016.

Shavdatuashvili faced Sagi Muki of Israel for bronze and defeated him.

Recall that in the initial meetings the Georgian won over Magdiel Estrada of Cuba and Chamara Repialaje of Sri Lanka and in ¼ final lost to Shohei Ono of Japan.
