Georgian tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili went through to the final of Kitzbuhel tournament (Austria, 520 070 EUR). It is Nikoloz’s historical achievement because he has a chance to win ATP tournament.
In the first round Basilashvili defeated No.5 seed Lukas Rosol of Czech Republic 6:4, 7:6 (7:4). Then, he won over Igor Sijsling of Netherlands 6:4, 4:6, 6:2. In ¼ final Nikoloz beat Adam Pavlasek of Czech Republic 5:7, 7:6 (7:2), 6:3.
In semifinal Basilashvili ousted No.6 seed Dusan Lajovic of Serbia 6:3, 6:1, earned 150 ranking points and 43 430 EUR.
In final the Georgian will face either Gerald Melzer of Austria or Paolo Lorenzi of Italy.
Champion of GENERALI OPEN will gain 250 points and 82 450 EUR.
