Two Georgians in Final

European Athletics Youth Championships started in Tbilisi yesterday. The first day of the championship turned out to be successful for the Georgian athletes.

Badri Kimadze and Giorgi Ketiladze participated in shot put. Kimadze finished the qualifying round with 17.59 meters and made through to the final. Ketiladze’s result was 16.73 meters which was not enough for overcoming the qualifying round.

Like Badri Kimadze, hammer thrower Davit Ochigava overcame the qualifying round. Ochigava threw 67.85 meters.

Today the finals will start at 17:45.

Other three Georgian athletes will also participate in the championship: Saba Soselia will compete in pole vault, Davit Lukava – in 400m hurdles and Saba Khvichava – in 2000m steeplechase.
