After the successful first leg, Chikhura Sachkhere lost the second one 2:3 to Zimbru Chisinau and finished participating in Europa League.
Soso Pruidze’s team played good football in Moldova and it was hard to imagine that they would not make through to the second round. The match was suspended due to heavy rain in Zestafoni. At the beginning of the match Giorgi Ivanishvili scored a goal. Chikhura had a great advantage but could not use it.
At the end of the first half Zimbru scored a goal. It was like a signal for Chikhura and the team started the second half actively. At the 55th minute Levan Kakubava scored a goal – 2:1. However, Zimbru restored balance in 5 minutes – 2:2.
2:2 was enough for Chikhura for playing in the second qualifying round but Emerson scored a goal at the end of the match and Chikhura said goodbye to Europa League…
