Basilashvili's Progress and Preparations for "Roland-Garros"

24-year-old Georgian tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili won Heilbronn Challenger and by this victory earned 563 points in ATP ranking, moved forward with 20 positions and occupied the 105th place.

Recall that Basilashvili managed to win 5 matches. He overcame Spanish Daniel Munoz-De La Nava 6:4, 6:1, Slovenian Blaz Rola – 6:7 (4:7), 6:3, 7:6 (7:5), Igor Sijsling of Netherlands – 6:2, 3:6, 6:4, Slovakian Joseph Kovalik – 1:6, 6:4, 6:3 and German Jan-Lenard Struff – 6:4, 7:6 (7:3).

For instance, the Georgian won challenger for the 6th time. In 2014, Basilashvili won Qarshi (Uzbekistan) and Andria (Italy) tournaments, in 2015 – Ra’anana (Israel) and Scheveningen (Netherlands), this year – Guangzhou (China).

Next week, Georgia’s first seed will be involved in French Open. In the first round, May 17th, he will face 23-year-old French Tristan Lamasine.

In case of victory, in the second round, Basilashvili will face the winner between Spanish Daniel Jimeno Travera and Italian Luca Vani.

Winning three matches is required for going through to the main draw of “Roland Garros”.
