The European Weightlifting Championship continues in Forde (Norway). Ramin Shamilishvili participated on behalf of Georgia in 62 kg.
In snatch, 123 kg, Shamilishvili beat personal record, but was less successful in clean and jerk (142) and overall took the 9th place with 265 kg.
Hursit Atak of Turkey 296 (126+170) became the champion. Russia’s Felix Khalibekov 289 (133+156) took the 2nd place and Bulgaria’s Vladimir Marinov Urumov 288 (129+159) occupied the 3rd position.
Kakhi Kakhishvili (President of Georgian Weightlifting National Federation): “We started the evening well, we have established a personal record in the snatch, but participation in clean and jerk was unsatisfactory. Our athletes set their personal records and I wish them success”.
