Mamuka Gorgodze, the best Georgian rugby player of all time, signed a new contract with “Toulon”. Gorgodze will play for this club for the next three seasons.
According to the previous agreement, the 31-year-old “Gorgodzilla” had to play for “Toulon” until 2018. According to the new contract, he will play until 2020 and perhaps, Gorgodze will finish his career there.
In December 2015 when “Racing” Paris got interested in the Georgian, “Toulon” decided to extend contract with Gorgodze.
Gorgodze plays in France since 2005. After 9 seasons in “Montpellier”, he joined “Toulon” in 2014.
Mamuka held 65 matches and scored 26 tries in the Georgia national team. He played at three World Cups – in 2007, 2011 and 2015. Gorgodze was named the best player of the match against Romania and England in 2011 and against Tonga and world champion New Zealand in 2015. He was named the best rugby player of Georgia five times and the best athlete of Georgia once.
