It did not turn out to be a match which we expected. And of course, we expected victory. Despite advantage, we played draw against Kazakhstan in Tbilisi. The teams exchanged goals at the end of the first half. The Georgians had a real goal moment in the second half.
Vladimir Weiss, head coach of the Georgia national team, did not have a nominal forward in the first half. Vako Kazaishvili played in front but it is not his position.
The team of Weiss played with 4-2-3-1 scheme but in the second half Nika Kacharava replaced Giorgi Chanturia and Kazaishvili played on Chanturia’s position. Jano Ananidze played as a left forward and Tornike Okriashvili – in center, behind forward. Okriashvili was the best on the team and scored a goal.
After Okriashvili’s goal, the score became 1:1. Two minutes before the Kazakhs scored a goal as a result of a classic combination.
Giorgi Navalovski was active in the first half and Jano Ananidze showed up only in one episode.
What the Georgians did well was taking the ball from the opponent in center. But then they could not find a continuation of the combination.
In the second half Guram Kashia missed a headshot. Kacharava was one on one with the goalkeeper but the goalkeeper caught the ball. In one moment Kacharava fell down while playing three defenders and he demanded penalty but there was not a clear violation of the rules.
Perhaps, Weiss will make some changes in the next friendly matches.
