During the presentation of the new head coach, Georgian Football Federation’s President Levan Kobiashvili noted that Vladimir Weiss is fully informed about the team. According to Kobiashvili, the main attention was paid to his national team experience.

Levan Kobiashvili (GFF President): “The negotiations with Vladimir Weiss lasted for a month and a half. The meetings were mostly held outside the country, and the last one took place in Tbilisi, when Weiss saw where and how he would work. As for why we chose his candidacy – first of all, our main goal was to see a coach who had national team experience. I would like to emphasize that Weiss is the first coach in the Georgian national team who has such experience.

I would like to stress that the agreement is until the end of the World Championship’s qualifying. As for the conditions, we recently talked to the former head coach of the terms and conditions and we offered him the same. This is the first time, when our coach will have a fixed salary and bonus in accordance with the outcome. We are glad he is the head coach of national team and I wish him good luck as well as the team in the next qualifying round.

GFF’s Executive Committee approved the candidacy of Vladimir Weiss today. Two-year contract was signed with the Slovak specialist. At the same time, the agreement with Kakha Tskhadadze was canceled and he will receive a compensation.
