Georgian Gold-Silver Day

Georgian Greco-Roman wrestling team won all three types of medals at European Championship in Latvia. Shmagi Bolkvadze (66 kg) won bronze medal, Zurab Datunashvili (75 kg) – gold and Robert Kobliashvili (85 kg) – silver.

Datunashvili opened the Championship with the meeting with Evrik Nikoghosyan of France and with an obvious advantage (8:0). He beat the French in 2 minutes and 24 seconds.

In ¼ final, Zurab Datunashvili overcame Karapet Chalyan (8:0) of Armenia. In semifinals, the Georgian faced Elvin Mursaliyev of Azerbaijan and won 3:1. In final beat Viktor Nemes of Serbia and guaramteed the highest step of the podium.

In 85 kg, current European champion Evgeny Saleev of Russia took place on the Latvian carpet, but Georgian Robert Kobliashvili left him beyond the final (1:1).

Before semifinals, Kobliashvili beat Serbian Petar Balo 9:0 and Tadeusz Michalik of Poland 3:0.

In final, Kobliashvili lost to world champion Zhan Beleniuk of Ukraine 2:5.

Today, Mindia Tsulukidze (71 kg) and Nikoloz Kelasov (80 kg) also involved in the competition but lost in the morning program.

Tsulukidze lost to Daniel Cataraga of Moldova (2:6) and Kelasov to Russian Ramazan Abacharaev (0:5).
