Unsuccessful Start at Tokyo Grand Slam

Tokyo Grand Slam has started in Japan. Teams from 91 countries, including Georgia, are participating in the tournament.

Amiran Papinashvili and Lukhum Chkhvimiani wrestled in 60 kg. Both of them lost 1/8 final.

Papinashvili was No.2 seed. He beat Damien Ziade of Lebanon. In 1/8 final the Georgian judoka lost to Dai Aoki of Japan.

Chkhvimiani defeated Cesar Ramos of Mexico and then failed to Naohisa Takato of Japan.

Today champions and prize winners will also be revealed in 66 kg but Georgia does not a participant in this weight category.

Lasha Shavdatuashvili, Nugzar Tatalashvili (both 73 kg), Avtandil Tchrikishvili and Ushangi Margiani (both 81 kg) will wrestle tomorrow. Varlam Liparteliani (90 kg), Beka Gviniashvili, Lasha Guruli (both 100 kg), Adam Okruashvili and Levan Matiashvili (both +100 kg) will wrestle the day after tomorrow.
