Igor Kokoskov: "Playing the Second Half at High Level Was a Very Important Psychological Aspect"

After losing to Greece, it was very interesting to hear comments of the sides. The game had two different halves and everybody mentioned it.

Igor Kokoskov: “We had a very bad first half. Unfortunately, we could not control perimeter. It is good that after the first half the Georgian national team started playing better and showed it can play at high level. It was a very important psychological aspect: the team saw they can fight strong opponents. It must be helpful for the game against Macedonia. Hopefully, every basketball player will show his best game in the next game”.

Giorgi Shermadini: “Greece has a very strong team and I think they are one of the candidates for gold medals. It is bad to lose 3 games in a row. We said in the dressing room that we must do our best in the upcoming game. I promise everybody I will do my 100 per cent. There is a chance and we must use it”.

Kostas Koufos: “My praise goes to the Georgian team. They managed to mobilize and get back in the game. I know Zaza Pachulia’s strength. The opponent has other good basketball players and it was surprising. To tell the truth, I did not expect easy game”.

Kostas Kaimakoglou: “Our active game in defense paid off in the first half. We were relaxed in the second half and it was a mistake. I want to praise the Georgian basketball players. They played really well in the second half. I think the Georgian team does not deserve the last place in the group. Georgia lost all three games but Viktor Sanikidze told me if you earn five-point victory over Macedonia, you can make through to the next. I want to wish you good luck. Tomorrow we will support you”.
