Georgian and Slovenian basketball teams faced each other for the third time and the opponent won again. After the match, Slovenia’s coaches and players have made the following comments.
Igor Kokoskov: “I do not think we played badly. In comparison with the first match, the team looked more effective and managed to reduce backlog. Anyway, I am grateful for guys. I am far from thinking that we have to adapt to the situation. Before the match against Macedonia, which could be decisive, we will fight against Greece”.
Viktor Sanikidze: “It is hard to win the match you are always in the role of pursuers. We played against strong opponent and did everything for success, however could not eradicate backlog. The Slovenians score three-pointers very well and this turned to be decisive factor. It is good we have a rest now and be able to recover for the match ahead. There is no way back”.
Jure Zdovc: “It was very important victory. Slovenia and Georgia lost the first round and wished rehabilitation in the eyes of the fans. Fortunately, we did it but nothing came easily. we have one failure, however, we will try to take the first place in the group”.
Klemen Prepelic: “I agree with the idea that the fate of the match was decided by a good play in the perimeter. After losing in the first round, we had no right to lose. Thanks to the fans, who actively supported us during the whole match”.
