Georgian national basketball team had played against Slovenian national team twice at the European Championship’s final stages and lost in both cases. Now, it is the right time to break the ice. The apprentices of Igor Kokoskov appeared in the difficult situation after losing to Netherlands and another failure will leave us meager chances.

Today’s opponents held morning trainings in “Cibona” basketball hall. Slovenians appeared in the arena first at 11:00 local time, then Georgians. Players were able to contact with each other.

The Georgian national team’s practice lasted for an hour. Igor Kokoskov was actively involved in the training and I hope his work will appear on the field. The main thing is that the team is fully prepared for the principal game and no one is injured.

“Every match is principal for the Georgian national team and we were very motivated in the first round, however suffered a sad failure. Now, we must work to improve the situation. We will try to do our best against Slovenia”, - said Manuchar Markoishvili.

The team’s captain Zaza Pachulia was motivated: “I am expecting very difficult match. Slovenia is a favorite on paper and it has its reasons. They are much stronger than Netherlands and we have to do our best. This is a crucial match for the Georgian team. In short, this is a game of life and death”.
