Kakha Tskhadadze: "The Scots Broke Stereotypes"

Georgian national team’s head coach Kakha Tskhadadze held a press conference in the press conference hall of “Dinamo Arena” before the match against Scotland. He talked about the game of opponents, emphasized the great potential of young Georgian players and expressed hope that tomorrow’s match will be successful for the hosts.

“We saw the Scots in the last four matches and I can tell you that they do not prefer long assists and bodybuilding anymore. They broke this stereotype, myth. As for the gambling schemes, the Scots change tactics, however play in the same way. In short, the Scots prefer spectacular football.

After my appointment as a coach, I am constantly trying to make accent on ball control. We still have problems in this regard. Controlling the ball will be the main task in tomorrow’s match.

Before such a difficult match, it is pleasant that the players, who are in lineup, have playing practice.

Our future goal is the third place in the qualifying round. For this, it is necessary to play equally against such teams.

The young players, called up for the team, gave great potential. At this stage, we made some concessions and some of them gave to the youth team. However, in case of Otar Kakabadze was no other way out. I had the only right defender Ucha Lobzhanidze in the national team, which is why Kakabadze’s presence was necessary.

Jaba Kankava will be the captain of the team in tomorrow’s match. He is a high-level player and ideally performs his duties”, - said Kakha Tskhadadze.

The match will take place on Friday, 20:00 Tbilisi time.
