Georgian judoka Avtandil Tchrikishvili (81 kg) went through to semifinal of World Judo Championships in Astana. In ¼ final Tchrikishvili defeated Sven Maresch of Germany by shido. The Georgian will face Takanori Nagase of Japan in semifinal.

Loic Pietri of France and Antoine Valois-Fortier of Canada will wrestle in the second semifinal.

Before beating Sven Maresch, Avtandil Tchrikishvili won over Frank de Wit of Netherlands, Aziz Kalkamanuly of Kazakhstan and Laszlo Csoknyai of Hungary.

The final block will start at 15:00 Tbilisi time.
