Avtandil Chrikishvili (81 kg) won the fourth round at World Judo Championships and made through to quarter-final. Ushangi Margiani (81 kg) finished participating in the tournament in 1/16 final.

After beating Frank de Wit of Netherlands and Aziz Kalkamanuly of Kazakhstan, Tchrikishvili won over Laszlo Csoknyai of Hungary. The Georgian judoka will wrestle Sven Maresch of Germany in ¼ final.

Ushangi Margiani fell to Yakhyo Imamov of Uzbekistan. Before that he defeated Lukasz Blach of Poland.
