Avtandil Tchrikishvili and Ushangi Margiani (both 81 kg), members of the Georgian judo team, won the second round at World Judo Championships 2015 which is under way in Astana.

3-time European and current world champion Tchrikishvili beat Frank de Wit of Netherlands in 3 minutes. In 1/16 final the Georgian judoka defeated Aziz Kalkamanuly of Kazakhstan (2:3).

In 1/8 final Avtandil will face Laszlo Csoknyai of Hungary.

Ushangi Margiani won over Lukasz Blach of Poland. The Georgian will wrestle Yakhyo Imamov of Uzbekistan in 1/16.
