The Majority of the Georgians Said Goodbye to Europa League

Only two clubs of the Georgian legionaries made through to Europa League playoff. Solomon Kvirkvelia’s “Rubin” and Jaba Lipartia’s “Zorya” overcame Europa League third qualifying round.

After winning 3:2 over “Sturm” away, the Kazans had a chance to play from defense in the second leg which finished 1:1. Kvirkvelia played from start to finish.

Jaba Lipartia was a substitute in the match against “Charleroi”. “Zorya” won 3:0 and went through to the next round.

“Trabzonspor” coached by Shota Arveladze could not overcome Macedonian obstacle. After losing 0:1 to “Rabotnicki” away, the Turks played 1:1 home.

“Vitesse” failed to “Southampton”. The Dutch club lost the first match 0:3 and the second one 0:2. The Georgian football player played 90 minutes.

Georgian defender Ucha Lobzhanidze of “Omonia” played 90 minutes against Denmark’s “Brondby”. The match finished 2:2 and “Brondby” made through to playoff.

“Inter” Baku coached by Zaur Svanadze played a scoreless draw with “Atletico”. Zurab Khizanishvili, Nika Kvekveskiri and Lasha Kasradze played from start to finish. Giorgi Lomaia was a substitute.

Europa League playoff draw will be held today.
