Georgian cadet judo teams ended up the European Youth Olympic Festival with 9 medals and the second place. Today, champions and prizewinners were found out in 90 and +90 among men and +70 among women. Onise Saneblidze (90kg) and Gela Zaalishvili (+90kg) wrestled in the name of Georgia and both reached the podium. The first one gained gold and the second bronze.

Onise Saneblidze outdid Polish Eryk Ryciak, Serbian Stefan Micic and Oleksii Babenko of Ukraine. In the decisive fight, the Georgian defeated Russia’s Aliumer Tumaev by oppon.

Gela Zaalishvili lost the chance of gold-silver in semifinal to future champion – Austrian Stephan Hegyi.

Among heavyweight girls, Italian Analisa Calaretti reached the highest step of the podium.
