Georgian women team’s both members Mzia Beboshvili (52 kg) and Eter Liparteliani (57 kg), who involved in the Tbilisi 2015 competition today, reached highest step of pedestal.
Beboshvili beat three opponents before final, British Aime Grant, Moldovan Ana Rotary and Russian Nasiba Ibragimova. In final, she faced Dutch Ilse Buren and became the champion.
Eter Liparteliani started the tournament by beating Czech Vera Zemanova, then she overcame Macedonian Amra Feizula and Russian Dana Nagusheva. In semifinal, the Georgian won over Finnish Emilia Kanerva and gained final victory over Polish Ana Dabrovska.
Today, current champion of Europe Lasha Shavdatuashvili also participated but stayed beyond the top three.
Tomorrow, champions and prizewinners will be found out in 63 and 70 kg in women and 81 kg in men. Natia Mikaberidze (63 kg) and Goga Kevkhishvili (81 kg) will wrestle on behalf of Georgia.
Preliminary stage meetings will start at 11:00 am.
