The Georgian judo team will compete in World Judo Championships (Astana, August 24-30) with the same composition the Georgians participated in European Games. Irakli Uznadze, head coach of the team, confirmed this information.
After returning from Baku, the Georgian judo team left for Bakuriani for a 12-day meeting. Uznadze’s team returned to Tbilisi yesterday. Today they are departing for Japan for a two-week meeting.
“We will come back from Japan on August 1. We will hold the last meeting in Likani on August 6. Vazha Margvelashvili will join the team in Likani. We do not have a participant in 66 kg. While practicing in Japan, Margvelashvili will wrestle at Tyumen Grand Slam” – stated Irakli Uznadze.
On August 18 judokas who wrestle in 60, 73 and 81 kg will depart for Astana. On August 22 judokas of 90 and +100 kg will leave for Astana.
