“Gagra” was the first team from the Georgian occupied territories which competed in European tournaments. In 2011-2012 “Gagra” lost to “Anorthosis” of Cyprus (0:3, 2:0) in Europa League second qualifying round.
After a four-year pause “Tskhinvali” participated in international tournaments. Kakha Kacharava’s team played draw (1:1) in the first leg away.
However, in the second leg the Romanians did not look like they were playing away and gained advantage from the beginning. Finally, they made through to the second round.

Roman had a chance of scoring brace but missed the target.
At the 38th minute Cordos fell down and referee showed the second yellow card to Nika Kacharava – the host forward left the field. This made Tskhinvali’s situation even worse.
At the beginning of the second half Plamada pushed Makharoblidze who fell down and the referee showed the Romanian the second yellow card.
Soon Roman managed to score brace – 0:2.
Kacharava replaced Gigauri by Akaki Shulaia. This substitution paid off. Cucu pushed Shulaia in the penalty area and Varlam Kilasonia scored a penalty – 1:2.
However, soon Batin scored the third goal – 1:3.
