The Georgian judo cadet team is a European champion. On the third day of European Championships Cadets Mindia Bodavelidze and Irakli Tsirekidze’s team took the first place at the team championship.
19 countries participated in the championship. The Georgians started with 1/8 final where they beat Italy 4:1. In ¼ final they defeated Germany, in semifinal – Ukraine and in final – Netherlands.
Russia and France took the third places.
Today the Georgian girls also wrestled on Bulgarian tatami. However, they lost to Croatia 1:4. In repechage Gia Tenadze’s team failed to France 1:4 and finally, they took the 9th place.
In final Russia beat Croatia and took the first place. Serbia and France won bronze medals.
