The Portugal national football team which is preparing for Euro 2016 qualifying match against Armenia (Yerevan, June 13) in Tbilisi practiced at the Mikheil Meskhi stadium.

Before the practice Portuguese forward Danny held a press conference for Portuguese journalists who arrived in Tbilisi with their national team.

Onofre Costa, media officer of the Portugal national team, warned Georgian journalists that the first part of the press conference would undergo in Portuguese and then the Georgians would be able to put questions in English.

Danny talked a lot. The Portuguese colleague translated his speech for us:

“We have the last official match of the season and we must do our best to achieve success. Armenia has a strong team and plays on counter-offences”.

To the question of the Georgian journalist why the Portugal national team chose Tbilisi for preparation, the media officer replied that question must be put to the president of the Portuguese Football Federation. However, after the end of the press conference Onofre Costa explained the reasons to the Georgian journalist. According to him, there is a good weather and atmosphere in Georgia. Besides that, the Georgian and the Portuguese Football Federations have a friendly relationship.

The first 15-20 minutes of the practice was open for media. Of course, Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of the Portugal national team and start of “Real” Madrid, was in the center of attention.
