Sevens Took the Ninth Place in Moscow

After losing two matches the Georgia national rugby union sevens won three matches in a row at the first stage of Grand Prix and took the 9th place.

In final of IX place Georgia faced Belgium. At the beginning of the match Belgium scored a try and used conversion – 7:0. Soon Bidzina Samkharadze scored a try and Kalandadze used conversion – 7:7.

At the end of the first half Irakli Gegenava scored a try and Bakhva Kobakhidze used conversion – 14:7.

The second half turned out to be tough. Belgium scored a try but missed conversion – 14:12. Later Bakhva Kobakhidze was sin-binned. However, the Georgian rugby players managed to keep score and took the 9th place.

Next weekend Georgia will participate in the second stage in Lyon.
