Giorgi Devdariani: "I Prefer Losing to Spain and Portugal to Winning over Turkey"
De la Fuente Is Surprised with the Game of the Georgians

At the post-match press conference Giorgi Devdariani, head coach of the Georgia U-19 team, stated he prefers losing to Spain and Portugal than anti-football victory over Turkey.

Giorgi Devdariani: “My assistant coaches and I need time to summarize our game at the tournament. Now I can say we played badly and won this match. I prefer those lose matches to this victory. Today we won with anti-football.

There are 12000 registered football players in Georgia and 120000 registered referees in Germany and more than million football players. We have a very short bench. The players were very tired in the match against Turkey. Four players joined the team on May 27. They practiced one day and then played Spain. One-day practice is not enough for Spain.

I want to congratulate Spain on victory”.

Luis de la Fuente, head coach of the Spain national team, stated the game of the Georgians turned out to be a surprise for him:

“At the first press conference I thanked the Georgian Football Federation. Now I want to thank those people who were kind to us.

The tournament was organized well. All four teams showed high class and beautiful football. The game of the Georgia national team was a surprise and I think this team has a future”.
