Georgia Won Trophy and Promoted to Elite

The Georgia U-20 team beat Canada 49:24 in final of World Rugby Trophy and next year the Georgians will play at World Cup.

The Georgians had advantage during the whole match. They scored 4 tries in the first half. Mikheil Babunashvili scored goal at the 15th minute. Giorgi Melikidze scored the second try. Giorgi Kveseladze scored the third try at the 32nd minute. 3 minutes later Tornike Zoidze scored the fourth try. Rezi Jinchvelashvili used two conversions – 24:0. Canada managed to score a try and used a conversion – 24:7.

At the beginning of the second half Jinchvelashvili scored a penalty. Canada also scored a penalty in 3 minutes. At the 48th minute Anzor Sichinava scored a try. At the 51st minute Kveseladze scored his second try and Jinchvelashvili used a conversion – 39:10. Canada scored a try-conversion but Jinchvelashvili played perfectly and increased advantage of “The Lelos” up to 29 points. Canada scored the third try in the middle of the second half. Finally, Georgia won 49:24.
