Today Gia Geguchadze, new head coach of “Dinamo” Tbilisi, and coaching staff (Gia Jishkariani, Davit Janelidze and Guram Aspindzelashvili) were presented in the press conference hall of “Dinamo Arena”.

Roman Pipia, owner of “Dinamo”, and Gia Geguchadze talked to journalists at the press conference.

Roman Pipia:

We wanted to appoint Gia Geguchadze before but there were some problems. He is a successful coach and that is why we made our choice on him. I want to wish good luck to Gia Geguchadze with “Dinamo”. Hopefully, our collaboration will be successful not only for “Dinamo” but the whole Georgian football as well.

- Why did Kakhi Gogichaishvili leave post two matches before the end of the season?

- Gogichaishvili and his coaching staff left the team before the end of the season due to unsuccessful games.

- Gia Geguchadze is always linked to ambitious programs. Are you ready to satisfy all his demands?

- Gia Geguchadze does not have any special demands. Our demands have coincided. We want to form a good efficient team. This team may not be formed in a year but it is possible in 2-3 years. It does not mean we must not fight for high goals at the national championship.

- Mr. Roman, presidential elections of the Football Federation are coming up. Are you going to participate in it?

- Nothing is excluded but it is less expected. I am really worried about what is happening in the Georgian football. It is necessary to create a program that will develop football. We will support the candidate who will help football develop.

Gia Geguchadze:

I want to thank everybody who came here, Mr. Roman and the whole team. Also, I want to thank “Dinamo” fans. I have always felt respect from them. I want to thank journalists. Many of them congratulated me on a new post.

Also, I want to thank that coaching staff which has worked here before my come.

I want to present those coaches who will work with me. They are Guram Aspindzelashvili, Gia Jishkariani and Davit Janelidze.

- What will be a goal of the team?

- Our goal will be progress of individual players and the whole team. Also, we want to win the Georgian Championship and Cup. As for European tournaments, situation in the Georgian football is very tough and it is too early to talk about the European tournaments.

- What do you think about the current national championship?

- I do not agree on increasing number of teams. It was not a right decision.

- Does the team need strengthening?

- I think “Dinamo” needs strengthening but it must happen step by step. I will think about strengthening after discussing problems of the team.
