Ushangi Margiani (81kg) won the silver medal and earned 300 ranking points at Baku Grand Slam. This success gives the Georgian real chance to hit top ten.

In 81 kg, Lasha Zurabiani wrestled against German Alexander Viezherzak and lost by ippon.
Today, champions and prizewinners found out in 73 kg weight category. Nugzar Tatalashvili and Lasha Shavdatuashvili involved in the tournament, but both of them stayed beyond the top three.
Shavdatuashvili wrestled twice on Azerbaijani tatami. He won over Ukrainian Artem Khomula in 23 seconds. In 1/8 final, the Georgian lost to Russian Zelimkhan Ozdoev and stayed beyond the tournament.
As for Tatalashvili, he occupied the 7th place with 80 ranking points.
Today, champions and prizewinners in women’s 63 and 70 kg weight categories revealed. In 70 kg Ester Stamm involved in the name of Georgia, but lost in the first round to French Margo Pino.
On the final day of Grand Slam, May 10, champions and prizewinners in men will be found out in 90, 100 and +100 kg weight categories and in women in 78 and +78 kg. Following judokas will fit kimono: Aleksandre Mskhaladze, Lasha Guruli (both 100 kg), Adam Okruashvili and Levan Matiashvili (both +100 kg).
