Lasha Shavdatuashvili, wrestler in 66 kg weight category and Olympic and Europe’s champion, hold six meetings at Zagreb Grand Prix, won all of them and earned 300 ranking points together with gold medal.
The Georgian judoka beat Albanian Igli Ramosacaj in 56 seconds, Dutch Sam Van T Westende in a minute and 36 seconds. In 1/8 final, he won over Victor Scvortov of UAE at the 5th minute, Ukrainian Artem Khomula in 24 seconds. In semifinal defeated French Pierre Duprat in 3 minutes and 5 second and in the decisive meeting beat Mongolian Tsagaanbaatar Khashbaatar in 2 minutes and a half.
Zebeda Rekhviashvili, who before wrestled in 73 kg category, this time wrestled in 81 kg weight category. In the main draw, Rekhviashvili hold three meetings. He overcame Dutch Neal Van De Kamer and Lebanese Nacif Elias. In ¼ final lost to Italian Antonio Ciano and made through to repechage. At last, he occupied the 5th place and earned 60 ranking points.
Today, another Georgian judokas wrestled at Zagreb Grand Prix: Pridon Gigani (73 kg), Giorgi Papunashvili (81 kg) and Ester Stamm (70 kg), but all of them lost at the first stage and stayed beyond the tournament.
Gigani won over Croatian Denis Becic. Papunashvili beat Shalva Kalabegashvili of Spain and lost to Russian Khasan Khalmurzaev.
After a long pause, Ester Stamm also hold two meetings. In the first circle, she overcame Belgian Roxane Taeymans 3:0. Then, she lost to Canadian Kelita Zupancic.
Zagreb Grand Prix will end up tomorrow. Following wrestlers will participate in the name of Georgia: Zviad Gogochuri (90 kg), Aleksandre Mskhaladze and Aleksandre Zaalishvili (both 100 kg).
