The Georgian athlete Rezi Davitaze took the second place at the U-17 World Championship in weightlifting, which took place in the capital city of Peru, Lima. The member of the Georgian youth team surmounted 130 kg in snatch and 162 kg in clean and jerk. This result led the young sportsman to the title of the world vice-champion. The Georgian stayed behind the Colombian Jason Lopez with 5 kg.
“U-17 World Championship took place in Lima (Peru), in which I took the second place. Of course, I could win gold medal. I could not lift up snatch twice. First placed Colombian weightlifter surpassed me with 5 kg. I participated in the international tournament for the first time and quite successfully”, - said the vice-champion of the world Rezi Davitadze.
