Margiani's Bronze Grand Prix

Georgian judoka Ushangi Margiani, wrestler in 81 kg weight category, won the bronze medal at Samsun Grand Prix and earned 120 ranking points.

Finalist of Tbilisi Grand Prix beat Mongolian Uuganbaatar Otgombaatar in repechage final.

Margiani made through to the repechage final by losing to French Louis Pietri. Before this meeting, he overcame three opponents, Portuguese Carlos Luz, Czech Yaromir Musil and Belgian Joachim Botyo.

Zebeda Rekhviashvili also wrestled in 81 kg weight category, but could not hit the evening program. He stayed beyond the tournament from the 1/8 final by losing to Brazilian Viktor Penalber.

Today, the medals were awarded in 73 kg too. Nugzar Tatalashvili lacked 10 seconds to the top three. The Georgian judoka lost to Viktor Skvortov of UAE. As a result, he took the 5th place and earned 60 ranking points.

Zviad Kapanadze also involved in 73 kg, but could only win over the first opponent, Uzbek Sarvar Shomurodov and lost to Portuguese Andre Alves.

Tomorrow, champions and prizewinners will be found out in 90, 100 and +100 kg weight categories. The Georgian national team will have participants only in two heaviest weights. Aleksandre Mskhaladze and Aleksandre Zaalishvili will wrestle in 100 kg and in +100 kg – Guga Kibordzalidze and Giorgi Bolotashvili.
