The quarterfinal controversy between Lasha Shavdatuashvili and Nugzar Tatalashvili ended with the victory of Shavdatuashvili. The European and Olympic champion lacks two victories to gold medal.

In 73 kg Zviad Kapanadze also overcame the ¼ final barrier.

In semifinal, Shavdatuashvili will wrestle against Rustam Oruzhov of Azerbaijan and Kapanadze – Dastan Ikibayev of Kazakhstan.

Tatalashvili made through to the repechage semifinal and will face Ukrainian Artem Khomula.

Ushangi Margiani and Giorgi Papunashvili are in the main draw of 81 kg weight category. In semifinal, Margiani will face Russian Sirazhudin Magomedov. As for Papunashvili, he will wrestle against Italian Antonio Chiano.
