The Disciplinary Committee of Spanish Basketball League (ACB) gave Georgian forward of “Laboral Kutxa” Tornike Shengelia with 5-match disqualification.

Recall that the Georgian was the main participant of the incident that took place in Basque Derby, when the basketball players of “Laboral Kutxa” and “Basket Bilbao” quarreled.

The quarrel began between Shengelia and Dejan Todorovic and the committee adjudged the most severe punishment against these players. As a result, Shengelia got 5-match disqualification and Todorovic – 4-matches.

We should also mention that Senegalese Mamadou Diop, who most actively interceded with the Georgian fined with 3 000 Euros.

The teams have a right to appeal the decision during 10 days in the Appeals Committee of the Spanish League.

Obviously, these sanctions do not affect on Euro League, where today, the team of Shengelia has important match. “Laboral Kutxa” is in Russia and will face “Nizhny Novgorod”, former club of Levan Patsatsia, at 21:00 Tbilisi time.
