After naming the list of players, the new head coach answered the questions of journalists.
Kakha Tskhadadze: After the press conference, I am going to Kutaisi in order to attend the match of the Cup. I will be able to see the matches of Georgian national Championship. It is sad to say, but we need to strengthen the championship, otherwise it will not work. The government should also contribute in football development and so we will advance and will result.
-When the team will gather and when the final composition will be named?
-We still have 2 weeks in advance. We will look at the situation. The players have to hold matches in the championships and when the matches will end the final list will be ready. Three football players, Navalovski, Revishvili and Martsvaladze, have matches on March 22 and will join the team on March 23. We will gather on 21th and start preparations. On March 23th, the team will have double training and on 25th, before the match against Malta, we will have practice in the morning.
-Gia Tsetsadze, who showed attacking football in the youth team, will be your assistant. What the future competition will be like together with him?
-There are many components in football and I cannot say so simply which strategy we will choose. For example, I saw the game of Malta and I know that they play second seed, so we have to be the leaders in the meeting. As for Germany, we have seen at the Mundial that they do not play stable and maybe it sounds ridiculous, but we have the chance.
-When Ketsbaia was head coach, several players did not come due to injury, how will you control this situation?
-Merab Vazikashvili has contact with the players and he monitors them. It should be a honor for the player, who we call for the team and plead something to avoid the team will be a bad tone.
-Will you make an accent on young players?
-We will always have an accent, but if I bring 17 years old players, they will not be ready physically. This is not an aged team. The physiology is very important here.
-During Ketsbaia’s coaching, the team had bad results, what is your goal in this qualifying?
-I believe in these players. I had a conversation with several of them and some were pessimistic. We have to return faith to them. We have to put the game in order. I am responsible on this team. I cannot say that I will care for their physical form, but I will prepare them psychologically.
-How do you combine working for “Inter” Baku and for the national team?
-I am almost in the air. I came today, now I am leaving for Kutaisi, it is hard but nothing is impossible. From June, I will work only for the national team. On June 3, we will go to Austria for the preparatory stage and on June 9, we will have a friendly meeting against Macedonia.
-Does Kankava still remain as captain of the team?
-I am not going to change the captain. Jaba Kankava will remain as the leader of the team, he really has leader skills.
The Georgian national team will hold the first match on March 25 against Malta and on march 29 against Germany.
