Tamaz Tevzadze, former deputy minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, held a press conference in the press conference hall of the Mikheil Mestkhi stadium.

Tevzadze talked about the Governmental Commission for the Development of the Georgian Football and blamed Minister Levan Kipiani for inactivity. According to the former deputy minister, some paragraphs of the plan are against “sport law”.

Tamaz Tevzadze: “Some paragraphs of the Governmental Commission for the Development of the Georgian Football are against the law. According to the first Paragraph of Article 10 of “Sport Law”, Sports Federation is the only governing body in sport and is responsible for its development”. Therefore, issues such as: plan for training talented players, planning events for training talented players, 5-year plan for the development of football. These are the issues which the Football Federation must decide. I cannot understand carrying out 5-year plan at the governmental level. It is technically impossible”.

Tamaz Tevzadze talked about the commission members. These members are: Irakli Garibashvili (Prime Minister and chairman of the commission), Kakha Kaladze (Minister of Energy), Giorgi Kvirikashvili (Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development), Nodar Khaduri (Minister of Finance), Levan Kipiani (Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs), Akaki Lodia (deputy Minister of Sport), Domenti Sichinava (president of the Georgian Football Federation), Revaz Arveladze (general secretary of the Football Federation), Aleksandre Chivadze (executive committee member of the Football Federation), Murtaz Khurtsilava (honorary vice-president of the Football Federation), Roman Pipia (“Dinamo”), Tariel Khechikashvili (FC “Saburtalo”), Ilia Kokaia (FC “Zestafoni”).

“I think the members of the Governmental Commission for the Development of the Georgian football are quickly chosen by Levan Kipiani. I am sure Irakli Garibashvili is mistaken. I think it is unacceptable that the Olympic Committee is not involved in the development of football. A year has passed since this commission was formed and they gathered only three times. They have not decided anything. Levan Kipiani put himself first” – stated Tamaz Tevzadze.

Levan Kipiani dismisses Tamaz Tevzadze in January. The official reason for the dismissal is reorganization.
