The Georgian water polo team celebrated the first victory in the first stage of the 2016 European Championship Qualification. The team of Jovan Popovic beat Switzerland in swimming complex “Olympic”.
The first half finished in favor of the Georgians 11:4. Georgia had advantage during the whole match.
After the match we talked to Zurab Rurua, captain of the Georgian team.
“Our goal is to take the second place in the group. So, we have to beat Portugal. Today our team played well. Hopefully, tomorrow we will play at high level” – stated Rurua.
Yesterday Portugal failed to Slovakia 6:15.
On February 8 Switzerland will face Slovakia at 10:00. Georgia will play Portugal at 11:45.
Slovakia is in the first place with 2 wins. Georgia and Portugal have one win. As for Portugal, it is outsider.
