According to the official statement of “Anzhi” Makhachkala, forbidden drug was found in blood of Georgian left defender Gia Grigalava.
“On February 4, 2015, the Federal Service Department of the Russian Federation was informed that players of “Anzhi 2” used drugs on “Anzhi Arena” territory.
Employees of the Dagestan Drug Control Service went to “Anzhi Arena” to check this information and talked to players of the youth team in presence of Ruslav Agalarov, head coach of “Anzhi 2”, and general director Sergey Korablev. Selective medical examination was also held and analyses of 5 players turned out to be suspicious.
Additional test was necessary in order to find drug in blood of the sportsmen. Four players took test but one suspect left stadium. This player turned out to be Gia Grigalava.
On February 5, 2015, the Drug Dispensary wrote in its report that forbidden drug was found in blood of Gia Grigalava.
“Anzhi” has never blamed Grigalava for using drug.
The information that Grigalava suggested the club to take independent drug test in Moscow and the club refused is not true because he is allowed to do it but only in Makhachkala. However, Grigalava does not want to do it.
“Anzhi” stated the club is and always will be a place of healthy lifestyle. Provocative statements are not true because we rely only on official documents presented by authorities of the Russian Federation” – stated the club.
