Coaching Changes of Georgian Judo

There are important changes in the coaching staff of Georgian judo national and aged teams. The Georgian Judo Federation received the recent decision after consultation with the members of executive committee. The main news is the unification of youth and junior teams. Irakli Tsirekidze and Davit Bodaveli were appointed as the new head coaches.

Judo Federation also decided that both specialists will have equal rights and the status of the head coach would not exist.

Former head coach of youth team Gia Gugava will continue his work in the coaching staff of national team. From now on, five curators will prepare the team together with head coach Irakli Uznadze: Giorgi Vazagashvili, Davit Asumbani, Giorgi Baindurashvili, Gia Gugava and Bidzina Mokhevishvili, who previously worked in the youth team like Gugava.

In the last season, Guram Modebadze was also included in the coaching staff of Uznadze. Now he will work for the united aged team. Giorgi Vazagashvili and Lasha Kizilashvili will take part in the preparation of youth and junior teams as well.
