The Georgian U-17 team took the 5^th place at the “Development Cup” in Minsk. The team of Gocha Tkebuchava lost the decisive match to Japan 0:2. The Asians took the 4^th place and the Belarusians – the 6^th place.

On January 24 the Georgians defeated the host team 2:1. Before that they beat Iran (1:0) and Ukraine (2:0). In the decisive match Georgia failed to Latvia 1:2.

The team of Gocha Tkebuchava will hold the elite round matches against Netherlands (March 12), Belgium (March 14) and Northern Ireland (March 17).

32 teams from 8 groups will participate in elite round. The first-place teams and the best 7 second-place teams will play Bulgaria at the final stage. The tournament will be held on May 6-22.
