Four Athletes Presenting Georgia at the 2015 Winter EYOF

The 2015 Winter European Youth Olympic Festival will take place in Austria-Liechtenstein on January 25-30. More than 1300 athletes from 47 countries will participate in it. 4 Georgians will be among them: Besarion Japaridze and Giorgi Kurtanidze (mountain skiing), Luka Rurua (snowboard), Irakli Maisuradze (figure skating).

Today the press conference was held at the Olympic Committee where Leri Khabelov, president of the Georgian Olympic Committee, talked about importance of the festival and wished good luck to the young athletes.

Leri Khabelov (president of the Georgian Olympic Committee): “A very important event will take place in Austria-Liechtenstein. 47 countries are participating in it. The athletes have prepared well. I wish good luck to our boys”.

Mamuka Khabareli (vice-president of the Georgian Olympic Committee): “We have participated in this tournament two years ago. This tournament is very important for our youngsters. More than 1300 athletes are competing in it. We won only one medal at the Winter Youth Festival in 1997 and we must improve this result”.

Giorgi Kurtanidze (mountain skier): “I will do my best to achieve success. I have prepared well. I want to bring success to my country”.

Mountain skier Giorgi Kurtanidze will carry flag of Georgia. The GNOC president Leri Khabelov will head the Georgian delegation in Austria.
