Europe U-18 Beach Handball Championship Started in Batumi

 

 

Yesterday, Europe U-18 Beach Handball championship 2012 started in Batumi. There are 8-8 boys and girls’ participant teams.  
Boys’ teams are from Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, Norway, Switzerland, Hungary and Croatia. As for girls, the teams are from Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, Norway, Switzerland and Hungary. Matches are held at the main arena of sport complex and besides that at two new fields.
Robert Chkhaidze mayor of Batumi, Giorgi Godabrelidze president of Georgian Handball Federation and Ole Yorstad president of European Beach Handball Federation greeted participants and spectators at opening ceremony of championship.
IV place winners were found out yesterday. Georgian girls lost all the three matches in group A with Ukraine, Norway and Hungary. The same happened to guys with Croatia, Ukraine and Hungary.
Group matches and semi-finals are held today. Russian and Switzerland are opponents for Georgian girls and boys. Final of the tournament is held tomorrow.
