Georgian judo team is in semifinal of European Team Championship which is underway in Budapest. The team of Irakli Uznadze is current champion of Europe and is No.1 seed at the tournament. 15 teams are competing in the championship.

The Georgian judokas started participation from the second round. They beat the host team 4:1. Lasha Shavdatuashvili (66kg), Avtandil Chrikishvili (81kg), Varlam Liparteliani (90kg) and Adam Okruashvili (+100kg) gained points. All of them won by ippons. Nugzar Tatalashvili (73kg) lost.

In semifinal the Georgian team will wrestle either Poland or Holland.
