Farewell match of Kakha Kaladze, former captain of the Georgian national football team, former defender of “Dinamo” Tbilisi, “Dynamo” Kyiv, “Milan” and “Genoa”, will take place in Tbilisi on May 31 on “Dinamo Arena”. The show which is dedicated to the match will start at 20:30 and singer Bera Ivanishvili will participate in it.
Davit Mujiri, one of the members of the organizational group, informed journalists at the press conference hall of “Dinamo Arena”. He held the press conference with UEFA media officer Mamuka Kvaratskhelia.
As Kaladze, minister of Energy, is very busy, his friends (Mujiri, Levan Kobiashvili, Aleksandre Iashvili, Zaza Zamtaradze and Giorgi Demetradze) are organizing the upcoming match.
According to Mujiri, “Milan” and friends of Kaladze will play against each other. Carlo Ancelotti will be a head coach of “Milan”. The following football players will be in “Milan”: Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Costacurta, Filippo Inzaghi, Andriy Shevchenko, Christian Vieri, Rui Costa and Zvonimir Boban. According to Mujiri, representative of “Milan” will arrive in Tbilisi on May 15 and the list of the Italian team will be known then.
Tickets will be sold from May 22 on “Dinamo Arena” and price will be 5-10 GEL. There are three categories of tickets and money will be used for charitable purposes.
Kaladze will name football players for the friends’ team. According to Mujiri, he has not received official invitation yet. It is not known who will coach the mentioned team. But it is known that the team will be international and besides Georgians, foreigners will also play for it. Mujiri mentioned in spite of it is a friendly match the hosts will do their best. Another press conference will be held on May 17.
The main group of the guests will arrive on May 31 and they will stay at hotel “Radisson”. Some friends of Kaladze may visit Tbilisi one day earlier. “Georgian Public Broadcasting” will broadcast live match. “Bank of Georgia” is a representative of the upcoming match. General sponsors are – telecommunication company “Beeline”.
According to Mujiri, he has talked to Rezo Arveladze, general secretary of Georgian Football Federation, and they will apply to GFF if they need it. Mujiri stated they will invite managers of the federation to the match but it is known that they will not be in Georgia.
Current football players of the Georgian national team will not play in this match. On June 2 the team of Temur Ketsbaia will play against Ireland and on June 5 – against Denmark.
As for referees, negotiations with foreign referees are underway and their names will be known by May 17.
