The second half of the current national championship turned out catastrophic for “Torpedo” Kutaisi. The team lost 9 from the last 10 matches. Besides this, Spaniard head coach Gerard Zaragoza left the club. “Wissol Group” is also going to leave “Torpedo”.
On December 30 “Jungles”, fan club of “Torpedo”, gathered at City Hall at 2 o’clock. They held the banner: “Do not make Kutaisi stop breathing – history obligates it”.
Nodar Mikiashvili, deputy mayor of Kutaisi, talked to the organizers of the demonstration in his cabinet.
After the end of the meeting, Levan Danelia, one of the leaders of the fan club “Jungles”, told “World Sport”:
“Torpedo” Kutaisi is not the club which our city and tradition deserve. These problems have not started today. The new officials of the city have chance to find a way out from this crisis. The City Hall promised us to take care of the club and it will have much better result than today. The fan club “Jungles” and the veteran football players of “Torpedo” will do our best to bring the old glory back to the club”.
