Legend of Georgian Handball - Aleksandre Anpilogov is 60 Years Old

It has been 20 years that the veteran handball player lives and works in Germany, where he finished his club career. And before this he was a leader and top scorer of “Karishkhala” Tbilisi and the team of Soviet Union.

Anpilogov was born in Tbilisi on January 18, 1954. In 1970-85 he played for “Karishkhala” Tbilisi. He was the owner of USSR Cup (1978), 3rd prize winner of the USSR Championship (1977, 80, 81) and 3rd prize winner of USSR Spartakiad (1975).

For the first time Anpilogov appeared in the Montreal Olympiad in 1976 and in the final match he scored 2 important goals against Romania. In 1978 he became the World Championship silver medalist and in 1980 won also silver medal at Moscow Olympiad.
