The 18-year-old Georgian central defender Nika Chanturia is in Tbilisi and will start practicing the day after tomorrow. Chanturia played in all three matches at European U-19 Championship. He was injured in the match against Turkey and was substituted.
“I was hit elbow and I had three seams on my head”, - Nika told “World Sport”.
It is not known where Chanturia will continue his career. His contract with “Torpedo” Kutaisi expires on 1 August.
“Perhaps, everything will be found out in 10 days. I cannot say anything now. Not because I am hiding something, just because it is no use”.
We asked Chanturia about the matches in Lithuania:
- Many things have been written and I cannot add anything… Unfortunately, we could not make through to the next round. Finalists were from our group and Serbia became champion.
- Did not you expect the championship of Serbia?
- I did not expect it before the start of the championship. It is 50/50 in final. The Serbs deserved the championship.
- Was it physically difficult for you? You, Dvali and Zarandia were younger than others.
- Yes, there was difference in physical preparation. We spent all our energy against France and perhaps, that is why we lost to Serbia.
