Georgian judo team ended the second day of Grand Prix with a perfect result. The winners among men were found out in 73 and 81 kg weight categories and in both weight Georgian judokas reached the highest step of pedestal.
In 73 kg the team, coached by Irakli Uznadze won all three sample of medals. Nugzar Tatalashvili became champion. In final he defeated Olympic champion Lasha Shavdatuashvili. Zebeda Rekhviashvili took the 3rd place.
In 81 kg Avtandil Chrikishvili overcame all. Current European champion defeated American Travis Stevens in the decisive fight. In the same weight Ushangi Margiani won the bronze medal.
Pridon Gigani (73kg), Giorgi Papunashvili, Lasha Zurabiani (both 81kg), Nino Martiashvili, Shorena Sharadze (both 63kg) and Tea Sukhitashvili also wrestled today under the Georgian flag, but stayed beyond the top three.
Grand Prix will end tomorrow. The winners among men will be found out in 90, 100 and +100 weight categories. In women – 78 and +78.
